PRESENTATION
Skin aging involves the progressive loss of skin functionality due to:
- chronological aging (age, genetic factors);
- environmental aging (sun exposure, pollution, smoke, chemical substances).
Skin aging is generally accompanied by decreased cell proliferation, overall reduction in skin thickness and changes to the quality of the fibre network that supports the skin and dermis.
Histological changes occur at an epidermis and dermis level:
- epidermis: thinning out and alignment of disorganised cellular matrix, increased permeability, flattening out of the dermo-epidermal junction.
- dermis: decreased thickness of the dermis with subsequent reduction in the number of fibroblasts and their biosynthetic capacity, loss of tissue elasticity, disorganisation of the elastic network, reduction of collagen and hyaluronic acid.
ANTI-AGE TREATMENTS
The skin aging process inside the cells of our skin mainly occurs in the Mitochondria and DNA sites. With the passing of time, cellular longevity decreases with consequent loss of skin texture and elasticity. In particular, damage to the mitochondria leads to a reduction in the energy developed by the cells whose vitality is compromised, while damages to DNA may cause a reduction in cellular longevity.
Labo Anti-Age is the result of accurate studies on skin physiology and cellular biology. The Ageina® complex, patented by Labo in Switzerland, consists of four molecules obtained from the most advanced technologies. They have shown to have specific properties (in-vitro testing) in combatting the phenomenon of skin aging and helping the skin to regain its youthful and fresh appearance.
The Labo Anti-Age creams and bases not only contain the elements of the Ageina® patent (i.e. molecules designed to reduce the effects of aging and promote skin rejuvenation), but also numerous functional substances that allow enhancing the specific characteristics of each new Labo Anti-Age treatment. In fact, all the creams-bases contain the following substances in increasing concentrations for the different age groups:
- Hyaluronic acid with filling action on age lines;
- Pythic acid with lightening action;
- Caprooyl Tetrapeptide-3 promotes the production of the main components that act as a structural support for the skin.
